Frequently asked questions
What photo size does SSC require?
SSC forms typically require a photo of 3.5cm × 4.5cm (about 200×230 px) between 20 KB and 50 KB, and a signature of 4cm × 2cm between 10 KB and 20 KB. Always confirm in the official notification.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing happens entirely in your browser using the canvas API. Nothing is transmitted anywhere.
Why is my file still above the KB limit?
Very detailed images may not compress below a tiny limit at large dimensions. Reduce the pixel dimensions slightly and try again — the tool automatically lowers JPEG quality to hit your target.
Which format should I download?
JPEG for photos and signatures — it is what almost every Indian exam portal expects.
